The more I hear about this game, the more I tell myself just to wait for SWtOR. Thanks for the preview/review/info.

The space combat is shiney, I wish I could just ignore the ground missions. For the most part it feels very like a standard MMO, go to this npc, get that mission, get another mission, go to a planet, kill/scan/find something, etc.

Exploration is mission based and not exploration at all :/ Even Earth and Beyond had better exploration where you got to wander about and get killed a good few times instead of hitting immersion breaking load screens.

When I get time, I am also perusing the STO beta:

Mostly so far I agree with your assessment but I am just getting out of the tutorial so more testing for me before I write my final "review".

I don't hold out most hope for STO. I guess I wanted something groundbreaking for something called "Star Trek".

The MMO will survive but it won't be like a #1 MMO, it won't knock out Eve or WoW. And given Cryptic's track record, it
will probably be put on life support while they go develop
something else.

PS: By the way, "My God, it's full of stars!" My Blog has a new URL: http://danteedmundo.blogspot.com/

Sorry for inconvenience.
